Ahmedpur is a town located in the large ranges of Balaghat in Marathwada region of Maharashtra. It was under the domain of Nizam Empire of Hyderabad. The town was affected with the tyrannical treatment of Nizams paramilitary force Razakar. The British left India in 1947. Still Ahmedpur was deprived of the wave of freedom. The sun of freedom arose on the horizon of Ahmedpur on 17 September 1948. Ahmedpur was a taluqa in Osmanabad district and now in the district of Latur.
